Harp playing can be fun and relaxing. The harp is a very forgiving instrument for beginners and makes it easy for those that want to learn how to play the harp to sound good from the start, unlike other instuments (imagine a beginning violin or saxophone class!).
Aedan offers harp instruction:
- Private Lessons
- Group Lessons
- Lessons via Skype
Aedan studied harp in Ireland with Maire Ni Chathasaigh, one of the most renowned harpers in Ireland, as well as other well-known harpers from Wales, Scotland and the U.S.
Private Lessons
Aedan taylors your lessons to fit you, whether you want to learn for your own enjoyment, or if you want to become a performing harp player.
Group Lessons
Group lessons are a fun way to meet people and learn a beautiful instrument. Currently group lessons are scheduled for October at Descanso Gardens.
Lessons via Skype
Aedan teaches in the Southern California area. If you cannot find a teacher close to you, a Skype lesson here and there is better than nothing!
Harp Lesson FAQs
Is the harp hard to learn?
Like any instrument, it takes time and practice. But unlike pretty much any other instrument, very simple songs sound wonderful.
Am I too old?
Never!!! You're never too old to learn anything!
What is a good age to start my child?
It depends on the child. Usually around 7 is a nice age to start, but it really depends on their attention span and retention abilities.
Do I need my own harp to take lessons?
You will need a harp at home to practice on. If you do not have a harp, can help you find one for rent, or to purchase.
